Embark on an unforgettable adventure to Nevado Pisco, situated in one of the most stunning valleys of the Huascarán National Park, in the heart of the Cordillera Blanca. Known as «The Balcony» for its strategic location offering breathtaking panoramic views, Pisco derives its name from the Quechua word Pishqu, meaning «bird.» Previously referred to as Mataraju, this mountain’s summit offers a unique vantage point to  admire ten peaks exceeding 6,000 meters, including Huascarán, Huandoy, Chacraraju, Artesonraju, and Chopicalqui.

Day 1: Huaraz – Cebollapampa (3,900 m) – Pisco Base Camp (4,600 m)

We begin by picking you up from your hotel in Huaraz (3,100 m). From there, a private vehicle takes us to Cebollapampa (3,900 m), where we meet our team of muleteers and their pack animals. The trek to Pisco Base Camp (4,600 m) takes approximately 3–4 hours, through breathtaking Andean landscapes. Upon arrival, we’ll enjoy a snack and spend the afternoon checking and preparing our climbing equipment for the next day’s ascent.

  • Duration: 3 hours by vehicle, 3–4 hours hiking

Day 2: Pisco Base Camp – Pisco Summit (5,372 m) – Base Camp (4,600 m)

We set out at around 2:00 a.m., heading first to the moraine, a trek of approximately 2 hours. From there, we reach the glacier and begin our ascent, navigating around small crevasses. After a challenging climb, we reach the summit at 5,372 meters. Here, you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular 360° panoramic view of the surrounding peaks, including Huascarán, Huandoy, Chopicalqui, Chacraraju, Artesonraju, and even Alpamayo. After enjoying this incredible experience, we descend back to Base Camp.

Day 3: Pisco Base Camp (4,600 m) – Cebollapampa (3,900 m) – Huaraz

On the final day, we descend from Pisco Base Camp to Cebollapampa, where our transportation awaits to take us back to Huaraz.
