Day 01: Huaraz – Chiquián – Cuartelhuain
We will begin early in the morning and head south, driving for about two hours on a paved road to the town of Chiquián. Along the way, we’ll stop at a viewpoint to admire the Huayhuash mountain range, including Yerupajá, the second-highest peak in Peru. We will continue to the village of Llamac, the gateway to the Huayhuash range. Passing through Pocpa and La Mina Pallca, we will approach the Rondoy Valley (4050 m). The landscape transitions to rolling grasslands dominated by snowy peaks. We’ll camp in Cuartelhuain (4180 m).

Day 02: Cuartelhuain – Paso Cacananpunta – Janca
We will start by ascending to the Cacananpunta Pass (4650 m), a continental divide where waters flow to the Amazon. Andean condors can often be seen here. We’ll then descend to Pukacocha Lagoon and reach the campsite in Janca (4250 m), surrounded by the peaks of Ninashanca, Rondoy, and Jirishanca. An optional hike to Mitococha Lagoon is available for those feeling energetic.

Day 03: Janca – Paso Alcaycocha – Carhuacocha
At sunrise, we’ll begin our hike to the Alcaycocha Pass (4750 m). Along the way, we’ll enjoy close-up views of Jirishanca and Yerupajá (6634 m, the tallest peak in the Huayhuash Range) and Alcaycocha Lagoon. From a viewpoint, we’ll see the four lagoons: Carhuacocha, Gangrajanca, Siula, and Quesillacocha. Descending, we’ll reach Carhuacocha Lake (4150 m) and camp surrounded by stunning peaks and glaciers.

Day 04: Carhuacocha – Paso Siula – Huayhuash
Photographers are encouraged to rise early to capture the sunrise over the lake and snowy peaks. We’ll take a gradual hike to Siula Pass (4810 m), passing the Gangrajanca, Siula, and Quesillacocha lakes. From the pass, we’ll descend to the Huayhuash campsite (4300 m), surrounded by Mount Trapecio and the Jurau peaks.

Day 05: Huayhuash – Paso Trapecio – Pampa Cuyoc
We’ll hike to Trapecio Pass (5020 m), one of the highest points of the trek, enjoying panoramic views of Trapecio, Puscanturpa, and the peaks of the Raura Range. Descending, we’ll camp in Pampa Cuyoc (4511 m) at the foot of Cuyoc Peak.

Day 06: Pampa Cuyoc – Paso Santa Rosa – Cutatambo
We’ll ascend to Santa Rosa Pass (5057 m), offering panoramic views of Yerupajá, Siula Grande, Sarapo, and other peaks. Afterward, we’ll descend to the Cutatambo campsite (4250 m), where renowned climber Joe Simpson camped before climbing Siula Grande.

Day 07: Cutatambo – Huayllapa.
We’ll descend through the Calinca Valley to warmer climates and cultivated lands, arriving at the remote village of Huayllapa (3500 m). Along the way, we’ll enjoy views of waterfalls in a typical high-Andean valley.

Day 08: Huayllapa – Paso Punta Tapush – Gashpapampa
We’ll ascend through a warm valley to Punta Tapush Pass (4780 m), with views of Diablo Mudo and Collotaraju. Then, we’ll descend to our campsite in Gashpapampa (4520 m), where we can enjoy a spectacular sunset.

Day 09: Gashpapampa – Paso Yaucha – Jahuacocha
We’ll walk through a forest of quenual trees to Yaucha Pass (4830 m), with panoramic views of the Huayhuash and Blanca Ranges. Descending, we’ll reach Laguna Jahuacocha (4100 m), a true gem of the circuit.

Day 10: Jahuacocha Lake

Day 11: Jahuacocha – Paso Mancanpunta – Pocpa – Chiquián – Huaraz
After an early breakfast, we’ll ascend to Mancanpunta Pass (4550 m), offering breathtaking views of the Andes. Then, we’ll descend to Pocpa (3550 m), where our transport will take us back to Huaraz.
