Day 1: Huaraz – Punta Olímpica – Chacas
Depart from Huaraz. Arrive at Carhuaz for a 20-minute stop to taste artisanal ice cream. The journey continues with a scenic ascent into the Cordillera Blanca, reaching Punta Olímpica, renowned for its breathtaking views of Huascarán, Chopicalqui, Contrahiervas, and the world’s highest tunnel (4736 m, 1384 m in length), you’ll enter the Conchucos Valley and make a brief stop at the enchanting Gangaraca Lagoon.
Descend to the town of Chacas for lunch and a guided visit to its colonial-style architecture, cathedral, museum, and the Don Bosco carpentry and glass workshops. Overnight stay in Chacas (3350 m).
Day 2: Chacas – San Luis – Pumallucay
- Distance by bus: 115 km
- Duration: 5-6 hours
After breakfast at 7:00 am, depart at 8:00 am, continuing the descent through the Conchucos Valley along a winding road to the province of San Luis. From here, travel to the Pumallucay Sanctuary, a journey of approximately 1.5 hours, observing the agricultural activities of the Andean communities. Enjoy lunch at the sanctuary and return to San Luis for an overnight stay (3130 m).

Day 3: San Luis – Huachucocha Pass – Huari
- Distance by bus: 60 km
- Duration: 5 hours
After breakfast, depart at 8:00 am, heading uphill to reach the Huachucocha Lagoon, where you’ll pause for photographs. Descend to the village of Acopalca, then take a detour to visit the Puruguay Lagoon, notable for its remarkable depth of 124 m and length. Continue with a visit to the María Jiray Waterfall before arriving in the province of Huari for an overnight stay (3150 m).
Day 4: Huari – Chavín – Huaraz
Travel through the Pushca Valley in the Conchucos corridor on the eastern side of the Cordillera Blanca. Observe the traditions of local villages en route to Chavín, the most significant pre-Inca ceremonial center. Explore the ancient temple, known for its monolithic Lanzón, stone carvings, and hydraulic architecture. Visit Chavín’s main square before exploring the Chullush stone mill, still operational for grinding grains using water power. On the return journey, pass through the Cawish Tunnel and Querococha Lagoon before arriving in Huaraz, marking the end of the magical Conchucos Valley tour.
